Most people where I come from go to farm. Most people don’t go to school. Only the weak ones are allowed to go to school, their hands are not necessary on the field. I always wanted to go to school.
– Peterson Okosun
Peterson Okosun (known to everyone as Peter) is a Nigerian immigrant. His job is to stand in front of a local supermarket in Carabanchel (Madrid) for twelve hours every day, six days of the week. Since he doesn’t ask for money, one can not call him a beggar. Local people know him, through his persistent friendly presence and they give him some coins or sometimes food. The story Wishing towards the Light is Peters life story. (see PDF)
